Learn with Wild Toledo

The Toledo Zoo, a member of the Ohio Hellbender Partnership (OHP), is rearing hellbenders for release into the wild of southeastern Ohio. The Zoo is  the largest contributor of head-started Ohio hellbenders, housing 500+ individuals scheduled for release back into their native stream habitat.

The Wild Toledo biologists regularly talk about the Zoo’s conservation projects and findings, both at the Zoo and throughout the community. Click on the image to learn more about conservation and field research in your area, along with information about upcoming talks in your community.

Make a difference! Help Zoo staff with a conservation project, learn about the many ways the Zoo helps animals in the wild, or take a trip into the field for first-hand conservation experience.  The camp is ages 11 to 14 and encompasses three sessions over the summer of 2015.  Click above to learn more!
